Those with a 35mm camera (film, remember that?) may want to consider entering the PhotoMarathon competition that is scheduled for the 16th June.
It’s basically a time bound photography competition, during which photographers are encouraged to take photos in/ around Cardiff that reflect their interpretation of a variety of themes.
I know it isn’t digital, and it isn’t at all online, but it is quite a cool concept and I’m already thinking of how the web could take part in making it interactive…

One way it could be improved upon last year's Photomarathon (yes, I too am the proud holder of a green wrist-tag and a certificate with my name misspelt) is by using SMS to distribute the photo themes and to confirm you're still in the game.
The method employed last year required trekking back to the city centre from wherever you'd managed to get yourself in the name of photography, to a certain location at a certain time to check back in and pick up more themes, which were distributed in batches of 4. Okay in principle, but man, was it knackering!

I'd not heard of this event before, and would like to take part, but have work commitments that day.
Cardiff Flickr members suggest putting negatives up on-line afterwards.

I'd been meaning to e-mail you after our brief chat at the Draig event in Cardiff. I'd have liked to stay and chat more about marketing in Wales (and probably blogging) but was already half hour late for work - I even left the buffet untouched which is unheard of.
Re the CMC e-mailing list, yes it's a bit embarassing having taken so long to get back to people who registered an interest so long back (and then missing your e-mail of the list) - I'm just as disorganised myself so I can't say much.
